Tieto's Mobile Solution for Operation Planning
Tuesday, 27 April 2010
TietoTieto is intending to present a prototype for a new mobile ICT system for doctors and healthcare staff at the healthcare conference Vitalis 2010. The system will help eliminate time-consuming administrative tasks involved in operation planning, while also speeding up access to important patient information. This solution is available for Apple's new tablet PC iPad and the first pilot project is planned to start in the autumn.

Tieto has delivered healthcare and welfare mobile solutions for several years and runs many projects aimed at improving the usability of applications. The solutions are powered by a variety of technologies and are always based on the users' need for practical work tools.

"User-friendliness is one of the most important and crucial factors when developing healthcare solutions. We have now provided a further example where we have used the latest technology and can offer a user-friendly interface. The solution will improve the situation for doctors and patients alike," says Arto Ryymin, responsible for the healthcare and welfare business within Tieto.

Tieto's existing operation planning tool Provisio has been used as the basis for its new prototype. It is a completely digital tool covering every aspect of patient treatment associated with operations.

"We are pleased that we can now also offer a mobile solution. Any new information about a patient will be directly available to anyone who needs to access the latest facts. This solution will also enable healthcare staff to work more efficiently as information can be entered and searched for even during rounds," says Jon Dahlen, working for product development in Tieto Healthcare Scandinavia. "Effective, mobile digital support tools can also save time for doctors and other healthcare staff, time which is currently devoted to administrative tasks at different stages," adds Jon Dahlen.
