Picis and iSOFT Enter into Global Strategic Alliance for Picis Solutions
Thursday, 04 February 2010
PicisPicis, the leading provider of information systems for the high-acuity areas of hospitals, and iSOFT, one of the world's biggest healthcare information technology (HIT) companies, have entered into a strategic alliance whereby iSOFT will distribute, implement and provide international support for selected solutions from the Picis CareSuite® family of high-acuity solutions, focusing initially on ICU and anesthesia in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand.

The two companies have entered into an agreement to enable hospitals to deploy a comprehensive HIT software solution all from one source. The complementary product lines between Picis and iSOFT were a significant factor in establishing this alliance. "By incorporating Picis solutions into our product offering, we are creating one of the most extensive offerings in the entire healthcare IT sector," said Adrian Stevens, Managing Director of iSOFT's UK and Ireland business. "Our expanded software portfolio further demonstrates our commitment to providing our clients with interoperable solutions that meet their business and clinical documentation needs, ultimately helping them improve their overall efficiency."

With this agreement, Picis achieves a greater presence within these markets, expanding on its already strong existing client base. "We are very pleased to be affiliated with iSOFT. As one of the largest international healthcare information technology companies in the world with more than 13,000 healthcare provider organizations in over 40 countries, iSOFT offers us exciting new market opportunities" said Liz Popovich, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of International Operations, Picis. "We believe that iSOFT's market strength complements our core competencies enabling significant growth potential in these markets."

As of today, Frimley Park Hospital and Torbay Hospital - two National Healthcare Services (NHS) trusts in England - are already benefiting from the integrated healthcare IT solution from Picis and iSOFT. For more information on Picis solutions, please visit http://www.picis.com/products.
