Orion Health Named In Top Asia Pacific Awards

Orion HealthOrion Health, a leading provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the healthcare sector, has been named a winner of the 2008 Red Herring Asia Top 100 Award for technology companies. Orion Health was the only New Zealand company to win an award, competing against 200 private technology companies from 16 countries in the region.

The Red Herring editorial team carefully evaluated the finalists on both quantitative and qualitative criteria including financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management and execution of strategy. Orion Health's CEO, Ian McCrae, welcomed the news saying, "In the past twelve months, Orion Health has achieved several major milestones. We are doubling our software development efforts here in New Zealand and continuing to win major contracts throughout Europe and North America, and more recently in the Middle East and Asia."

"The Red Herring Award is recognition of the innovation and smart technology coming out of New Zealand" said McCrae.

Recently, the company received $4.78m in funding from Technology New Zealand, forming part of a $9.6m project fast-tracking its development of a revolutionary health IT product, expanding its business into new sectors in this market and doubling its New Zealand-based development staff numbers.
