VPH Industry day
Barcelona, Spain, 8-9 September 2010.
The 2nd VPH Industry Day 2010 will be held from 8-9 September 2010 in Barcelona (Spain), at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
The event is organised by the European Network of Excellence for the Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) and aims to increase the awareness amongst European Industry of the vision, the concepts, and the concrete technological achievements of VPH-related research. This year the program revolves around three themes:
- Research to Business (R2B): VPH research projects (Scoliosis, @neurIST, Living Human Digital Library, IMPPACT, COAST, preDICT, HC, PredictAD, VPHOP) will be presented to industry experts both in terms of vision and of exploitable results.
- Business to Business (B2B): Companies (Biopresent, BioComputing Compentence Centre, Ansys, NUMA, Insigneo, ALMA 3D, MAATG, Medtronic, NUUBO, ATOS Research, Transmural Biotech) will share with other companies concepts, products and services that can be used to develop VPH-related products.
- Regulatory to Business (G2B): Regulators (United States FDA, COCIR, DICOM Working Group 23) will discuss standardisation and regulatory affairs in Europe and the USA relevant for VPH-based technology.
The event is open and free to all. However, since the number of seats available is limited please ensure that you register on-line to the event in advance. The event is an excellent opportunity for technical and managerial staff in small and large biomedical companies to learn and prepare for developments in personalised and predictive medicine in the short and medium terms.

VPH Strategic consensus meeting
Brussels, Belgium, 29 September 2010.
The Annual VPH Strategic Consensus meeting will be held in Brussels, 29 September 2010 at the ULB Solbosch Campus. Participation is open and free to anyone, but pre-registration is required.
The scope of the meeting is to inform the whole VPH research community of all the strategic activities that are being conducted by our various members in relation to the VPH research in the domain of ICT for health, the VPH internationalisation projects, the VPH toolkit, the VPH infrastructures, the ARGOS international observatory, the VPH FET initiative, etc.
The VPH Network of Excellence invites all those who are involved with the VPH initiative to an all-hands meeting, where VPH key figures will be invited to update the community on strategic activities, to present detailed information and to discuss openly the general strategic directions that the VPH initiative will take in the next few years.
From this public discussion will emerge the 2010 update to the VPH Research Roadmap, that the VPH NoE will compile and publish before the end of the year.

VPH 2010 - the first VPH scientific conference
Brussels, Belgium, 30 September - 1 October 2010.
The first of a series of international VPH Conferences (VPH2010) will be organised by the Virtual Physiological Human Network of Excellence - VPH NoE in Brussels from 30th September to 1st October, 2010. This first meeting will be held in Brussels, Belgium, and is supported by the European Commission ICT for Health / DG Information Society and Media. The meeting will take place at the ULB Solbosche campus, Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt 50, Brussels, Belgium, 1050.
The Virtual Physiological Human Network of Excellence is an umbrella project representing the Virtual Physiological Human Initiative set up by the European Commission with a budget of ~ 350 million Euros for the 7th Framework Program. The conference series is designed to be a key resource for the VPH NoE and to produce a 'VPH Vision and Strategy Document' also in relation to the next European Commission calls for the VPH field for FP7, FP8 and for European large infrastructural actions.
