Call for Papers: Global Telehealth 2010 (GT2010)
Saturday, 20 February 2010
10-12 November 2010, Fremantle, Perth, Western Australia.
Australia will host Global Telehealth 2010, the 15th Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH). This meeting has become well established as the major international telehealth conference and will come to Australia for the first time in 2010. Concurrently, the meeting will also be the first annual scientific meeting of the Australasian Telehealth Society, which was founded in 2008.

The conference, to be held in Perth's unique waterfront community of Fremantle, is expected to attract delegates and speakers from many of the 30 national societies comprising ISfTeH, as well as a large delegation from Australia and New Zealand. Members of telehealth organisations from Asia-Pacific nations should find this meeting particularly attractive. The interdisciplinary nature of the telehealth community attending will ensure wide cross-section of viewpoints. Prominent international speakers will be invited to address the meeting, and papers submitted will be peer-reviewed to maintain the highest standard, with expected publication in a major international journal. The meeting will feature the largest commercial exhibition of telehealth products ever held in Australasia.

Contributions are sought addressing current research and practice in Telehealth, including:

  • Clinical applications of telemedicine
  • Teleconsultation and telecollaboration
  • Teleprocedures and robotic surgical methods
  • Telecare and remote patient monitoring
  • Tele-education and training
  • Evaluation and benefits of telehealth
  • Web services for telehealth
  • Mobile telehealth and wireless
  • Telehealth software and systems
  • Telehealth technologies and methodologies
  • Telehealth for remote areas
  • Telehealth in emerging countries
  • Telehealth policy and governance
  • International trends and perspectives for telehealth

Submission of Papers
Original unpublished contributions in all fields of Telemedicine and related areas of eHealth are invited. These may be offered as Full Papers (maximum 10 pages or approx 4000 words) subject to expert peer review by an international program committee of technical experts, or as extended abstract Short Papers (maximum 2 pages or approx 1000 words) subject to internal review by the organisers. Submissions must contain clear aims, methods, results and conclusions for the work reported.

Papers will be judged on originality, significance, technical quality, relevance to the conference, and presentation. Submission of a Full paper or Short Paper will be regarded as an undertaking that, should it be accepted, at least one author will attend the conference to present the work.

Submissions should be formatted using the style guide (available soon from Global Telehealth 2010 site) and must be submitted via the website by the submission due date below. Accepted Full Papers will be presented orally, while accepted Short Papers may be selected for either oral or poster presentation. All accepted submissions will be published in CD-ROM proceedings for the conference, and selected Full Papers of high quality and relevance will appear in a special edition journal volume.
