Friday, 01 October 2010
Cerner CorporationCerner Corporation (Nasdaq:CERN) announced Greg White has been appointed to the role of vice president and managing director for Cerner in the Middle East, Africa and India.

"Greg brings the innovative spirit and commitment to solving healthcare's many challenges that will help Cerner find new ways to deliver value to our clients," said Mike Valentine, Cerner chief operating officer. "With an impressive track record of delivering results for our clients in the United States, we are confident that he will be an influential leader in all three regions as we continue to expand our global presence."

White’s previous role at Cerner was that of general manager for clients in the eastern region of the U.S. His team was responsible for delivering results for Cerner clients that lead the industry in their use of healthcare information technology to optimize workflow and transform patient care. Prior to this role, White worked with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Children's Hospital to reach HIMSS Stage 7, which is awarded to U.S. hospitals for achieving the highest level of automation and creating a virtually paperless patient record environment. In 2008, White was honored with Cerner's national client results executive award for his work at UPMC and Carolinas Healthcare System.

"I am looking forward to building on Cerner's 16-year history of growth and commitment to improving standards of care in the Middle East, and expanding our presence in India and Africa," said White. "It is an exciting time of healthcare transformation in all three regions, and I believe Cerner is uniquely positioned to help governments and private healthcare providers improve patient safety, quality of care and operational efficiency."

White brings ten years of healthcare experience to his new role. Before coming to Cerner, White was chief executive officer of Gajema Software, LLC, a leader in the laboratory information management and logistics markets which was acquired by Cerner in 2004. White graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor's degree in Finance.

White replaces Rich Berner, the previous vice president and general manager, who will move to Cerner's world headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., USA, to serve as vice president.
