Agfa HealthCare Teams with Schiller America Inc. to Strengthen Cardiology Reach
Friday, 28 October 2011
Agfa HealthCareAgfa HealthCare has teamed up with Schiller America Inc., a leading international manufacturer and supplier of electrocardiographs, stress and cardiopulmonary exercise testing, long-term ambulatory Holter ECG and blood pressure recorders, spirometers, medical IT solutions, patient monitors and external defibrillators.

Joint effort will provide complete cardiac solution at the point of care
The collaboration will make Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX HeartStation available through Schiller to hospitals, clinics, and physician practices, and will also be coupled with Schiller's ECG carts as a complete turnkey solution to help manage ECG images electronically.

"We are continuously looking for ways to bring our customers new technology to help them provide a higher quality of care and streamline clinician workflow," said David Helowicz, General Manager, Schiller America Inc. "Through this joint effort, we will be in a position to be able to provide our current and future customers a complete solution to capture, store and interpret cardiac information electronically so it can be acted upon by the cardiologist at the point of care."

Ideal match for efficient and improved workflow
Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX HeartStation is an ECG management system that automates the processing, storage, and display of electrocardiograms throughout a healthcare enterprise. Its extensive interoperability translates ECGs from resting, ambulatory, monitoring devices, and cardiac reports from stress, Holter and event monitoring applications from multiple market leading vendors into a universally familiar, easy to read format. Study data from multiple exams can be rapidly accessed, making possible review, serial comparison, editing, and electronic signing of ECGs throughout the hospital enterprise.

IMPAX HeartStation's compatibility with Schiller's ECG carts makes this solution an ideal match for doctors and other clinicians to be able to efficiently manage images and improve workflow.

"By teaming with Schiller, we're in a position to offer our leading cardiology product, typically purchased by large healthcare institutions in combination with our cardiology PACS and CVIS, to an extended market of physician practices, diagnostic centers, and community hospitals," said Rob Kenney, Global Marketing Manager, Cardiology Business Unit for Agfa HealthCare U.S. "This provides a unique opportunity for both the clinician and the patient to provide and receive enhanced, efficient diagnostic processes and care through the use of technology."
