Agfa HealthCare to Highlight Growing DR Portfolio
Thursday, 04 August 2011
Agfa HealthCareAgfa HealthCare will showcase its direct radiography (DR) solutions, designed to optimize workflow and patient care, at AHRA 2011, the annual meeting for the Association for Medical Imaging Management, August 14-17 in Grapevine, Texas.

Productivity and workflow benefits for busy imaging environments
Agfa HealthCare's range of DR solutions is ideal for busy imaging environments, offering productivity and workflow improvements along with excellent image quality. Its comprehensive DX-D portfolio includes everything from fully-automated, integrated digital X-ray rooms; to mobile DR units; to basic, affordable DR solutions. Each provides maximum flexibility for use during almost any exam, immediate image availability and the potential for dose reduction for patients and operators - all of which enhances their delivery of care.

Imaging excellence, clinical confidence
DX-D 100: The DX-D 100, one of the leading systems in Agfa HealthCare's extensive line-up of DR solutions, is a compact, fully-motorized and easy-to-handle mobile DR X-ray unit. The DX-D 100 is equipped with high X-ray generator power (up to 50 kW effective power) for enhanced imaging of dense areas. This high generator power offers shorter exposure times and sharper images, especially in abdominal and spinal exams and X-rays of bariatric patients. The DX-D 100 is operated from a 17-inch touch screen; separate battery packs for driving and imaging provide superior battery autonomy to handle heavy workloads when needed. Furthermore, the unit can perform X-ray exams during charging, a very unique feature.

MUSICA2 image processing software: Inherent to each Agfa HealthCare DR solution are MUSICA2, Agfa HealthCare's gold-standard image processing software for excellent image quality, and its established NX platform for a smooth workflow. The MUSICA2 software automatically analyzes the characteristics of each image and optimizes processing parameters independent of user input and dose settings. It is unaffected by the presence of collimation or direct X-ray backgrounds in the image, leading to consistently high-quality results. The software can also improve the overall visibility of clinically relevant structures, in particular making low-contrast details more easily perceptible.
